"Peeping Tom" Agent To Get Mental Evaluation

The agent has applied to have stalking charges dropped on mental health grounds.

Isaac Teu, a real estate agent who has been charged with peeping through the window of a 13-year-old girl on at least 2 occasions and alleged to have peeped in on a different woman as well, has applied under Section 32 of the Mental Health Act to have stalking charges dropped.

Mr Teu was charged with 5 offences, including peep/pry, stalk/intimidate, and trespass.

At the time of the reported incidents, Mr Teu had been working at Doyle Spillane Real Estate as a leasing and business development executive for 7 years.

When the girl reported to her parents that she had seen someone looking through the window, they checked their security camera and indeed it showed a man standing outside and looking through the window.

After seeing the footage, nearby residents were quick to call Crime Stoppers and point out the resemblance to Mr Teu, who had handled the sale of the property next door and had visited that site many times.

Northern Beaches police Superintendent Dave Darcy praised the public response.

"This is a great case of community and police working together ... many people in the community came forward and identified that man.

"This has significantly affected [the 13-year-old's] way of life, and that should not be taken lightly at all.

"That’s why it’s so pleasing that everyone got behind us, did their best to find out who the person was."

Later in December a Collaroy woman in her 20s claimed he had been peeping on her, too.

Crime Manager Detective of Northern Beaches, Inspector Michael Boutourdis said peeping tom reports are always taken seriously.

"Families have the right to feel safe in their own homes but incidents such as these can be extremely distressing, especially when children are involved."

As part of his bail conditions, Mr Teu must report to the Dee Why Police Station 3 times a week, must not approach within 500 meters of the girl he was alleged to have spied on, must not leave the country, and must not indulge in drugs or alcohol.

His next court appearance is March 27.
